Teaching & Learning

Junior School

We have 200 students in Years 8, 9 and 10 divided across 9 Learning paced classes. Students study a range of 16 subjects during Key Stage 3 before choosing their GCSE options.

Senior School

All students in Senior School study English, Maths and Religious Education as their core curriculum. Students have the opportunity to study at least five additional subjects from a menu of 46 subjects which caters for the variety of learning styles of our all ability intake. Students who are able can also study English Literature and Further Mathematics/Statistics for two years.

A number of our Year 11 subjects are modular and the students complete GCSE exams at the end of Year 11, therefore reducing the overall number of exams at the end of Year 12.

Sixth Form

There are currently 300 students in Sixth Form spread across Year 13 and Year 14. We offer a range of 26 A-Levels including General and Vocational subjects such as BTec and Cambridge Technicals. Approximately 85% of our students apply to stay on to Post-16 study, with the remaining places going to external students. We also offer an enrichment programme to our sixth form students and the able to participate in school and community service.
