Year 14 Success in Prestigious Public Speaking Event

On Thursday 23rd February, Year 14 public speaking representatives, Kitty McTear and Cohen Taylor, delivered 5 minute prepared speeches within the Senate Chamber of Parliament Buildings Stormont, in a bid to compete with 23 other students speakers from across Northern Ireland for the The Edgar Graham Memorial event.

The event is a highly prestigious public speaking evening which is hosted by Lady Trimble and attended by many local politicians – present and past. Kitty spoke with incredible passion about women’s contributions to society, whilst Cohen delivered an emotional speech about his experience of Integrated Education and his view that it’s the best foot forward. Both students performed incredibly well and Kitty McTear was awarded a highly impressive 2nd place. Fantastic achievement!
