Young Leaders Visit Slemish Integrated College
November 20th, 2011The Head boy and girl team were invited to a Leadership Lunch at Slemish College in Ballymena on Thursday 17th November.
The Head boy and girl and deputies joined with the Head boy and girl teams from 11 other schools to hear 3 highly motivational and informative presentations on leadership. The students learned a great deal from the speakers and all actively participated in the activities throughout the day. It was a joy to see so much potential in one place and the speakers focused on a room full of ‘tomorrow’s leaders’, and the impact they could have on Northern Ireland’s future.
The speakers for the day were;
Mr Eddie Backler
Managing Director of Charles White Ltd, Scotland’s largest Property Management Company and Director of William Coates- Electrical & Mechanical Engineering company.
Mr Jim Loughins
Principal of Whitehead Primary School.
Mr Michael Bennett
Vice Principal at Slemish College, and Northern Ireland Teacher of the Year 2005.
The students very much enjoyed the experience and came away from the event full of
enthusiasm.
I would like to thank all those at Slemish College who organised the event for an
enjoyable and meaningful experience.
